It is the intent of the National Library of Medicine (NLM) to negotiate on a sole source basis with Infodata of Fairfax, Virginia, for field service maintenace of its proprietary software Inquire/Text. Field service maintenance includes new releases of the Inquire/Text package, patches for existing software and system bugs, new manuals and updates to existing manuals, incorporation of user-defined functionality, and technical support. Infodata is the only known source for this product. NLM has used this copyrighted software since 1973 to build and maintain its key databases. This is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ), nor is an RFQ available, however, all responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the NLM. Firms interested in responding to this notice must be able to provide the specified services listed above. Responses should sufficiently demonstrate the firm's capability to meet the Government's requirements.
