U -- The USDA, Animal and Plant Health Inspections Service (APHIS), Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ), Professional Development Center (PDC), Riverdale, MD, is seeking the service of training and delivery to the National Detector Dog Training Center (NDDTC), Orlando, Florida, approximately 60-100 canines to be used by the NDDTC to train additional dector dog teams in PPQ. The breeds of canines to be procured, trained, and delivered to the NDDTC will be beagles and Labrador retrievers. From date of delivery to the completion of the contract, it is estimated that it will take approximately 18 months to complete. It is the Governments objective to double its detector dog teams over an 18-month period. This is a firm fixed price requirements. Estimated contract period from October 1, 2000 through April 30, 2002 (approximately 18 months from date of award). Offerors are required to submit both a cost and technical proposal for evaluation. The Contractor will be responsible for all travel and logistical arrangements for performance of this contract. FOB Destination is Orlando, Florida.
