NASA/MSFC plans to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) for providing labor, equipment, and materials to perform the removal of the existing firealarm systems and the installation of the new fire alarm systems in Buildings 4249, 4353, 4471, 4485, 4491, 4561, 4566, 4570, 4583, 4618, 4670, 4674, 4712, and 4732 and will include all materials, equipment, supplies,labor,and transportation (except any materials, equipment, utility, or service, if any, specified herein to be furnished by the Government). The effort will consists of performing all work in strict accordance with the contract documents, all of which are made a part hereof, and including such detail/drawings as may be furnished by the Contracting Officer from time to time during the prosecution of the work in explanation of said drawings. All requests for this IFB package must be made in writing and contain the complete company name, address, and phone/fax numbers. Request for IFB Packages must include a cashiers check in the amount of $25.00, madepayable to "NASA CASHIER". Release of the IFB and award of this project is contingent upon the availability of funds. Safety records of the prime contractor and subcontractors will be a consideration at award time and the prime contractor must have an EXPERIENCE MODIFICATION RATING (EMR) OF 1.0 OR LESS AND PROOF INCLUDED WITHIN THE BID PACKAGE. THE PRIME'S SUBCONTRACTOR'S EMR RATING SHALL BE NO MORE THAN 1.1 OR LESS. REQUESTS FOR IFB PACKAGES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED LESS THAN FIFTEEN DAYS PRIOR TO BID OPENING. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $500,000.00 to $1,000,000.00 and the effort shall be completed within 360 calendar days after notice to proceed. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 1541 and 17M, respectively. The DPAS Rating for this procurement is DO-09. All qualified responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about JULY 27, 2000 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about AUGUST 27, 2000.
