The Naval Oceanographic Office intends to negotiate and award an indefinite delivery/requirements type purchase order, utilizing simplified acquisition procedures under FAR Subpart 13.5, for commercial items, expendable, bathythermograph (XBT) probes, Sippican Model T-10 or equal, to meet salient characteristics, as set forth in the solicitation, for an anticipated base plus four, one year, option periods. Estimated quantities are 500 cases or 6000 probes per each year (base and options). Solicitation is projected to be issued o/a 19 Jul 2000, with a due date for submission of quotations of 31 Jul 2000. Quotation evaluations will be based upon technical acceptability of quoted product, past performance and price (for total estimated quantities for each order period).
