The project will be phased during regular postal operations. The work will include removing and replacing HVAC units, floor base, ceiling tile, light fixtures, impact doors at mail vestibule, and customer front entrance doors; refeed existing electrical panel and telephone data, install new corporate interior/exterior signage; install new soffit, lobby furniture and cove light system; replace old ceiling fans and install new fans in expansion area; and raise dock roof. The estimated cost of the project is between $390,000 and $420,000, with construction completion within 180 calendar days after Notice to Proceed. The minimum performance requirements are (1) five years experience as a commercial construction contractor, (2) completion of two projects similar in scope and size within the past five years, and (3)general contractor's license for the State of South Carolina. The Mid-Atlantic Facilities Service Office, with a goal of 7% for minority subcontracting and 4% for woman-owned subcontracting, encourages subcontracting opportunities for minority and woman-owned businesses.
