The Lightweight Multi-Band Satellite Terminal (LMST) Program, Contract DAAB07-95-C-A518 with Harris Corporation (Harris), will be modified to extend the period of performance by four months, enabling continued performance from 1 August 2000 through November 2000. This action is being taken as an interim measure pending approval of a five year extension of the LMST contract. The period of performance will be extended for the follows items: Quantity of 7 to 9 LMST Trailerized Configuration System; Pack-up Data for LMST Trailerized Configuration System; LMST Quarterly Status Report; and associated spares for the LMST Trailerized Configuration System. Harris is the current producer of the LMST which is a C, X and Ku Band Satellite Earth Terminal. The LMST being acquired is a production (Block 4) AN/TSC-152, trailer (spoke) version, and is currently on contract DAAB07-95-C-A518. This is a sole source acquisition with Harris Corporation, Melbourne, Florida, authorized under 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), and FAR 6.302-1(a)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Harris is the only known source with a Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) or Nondevelopmental Item (NDI) that provides the required technical and operational capabilities.
