The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Puget Sound, on behalf of the FISCPS Regional Inventory Management program manager, requests information in preparation for an upcoming Third Party Logistics contract solicitation. It is anticipated that we will have the need for third party support of approximately 150 different types of electrical cable the majority of which are for shipboard use. Location of use will be a naval facilities in the Puget Sound area. It is the Navy's primary objective in this effort to draw down on-hand inventory and reduce current material costs by contracting for just-in-time logistics support. We welcome automated solutions that include internet-based ordering by Government purchase card, inventory and usage tracking and creation of trend patterns, tracing receipt information, and other industry best practices. We request that you provide information on suggested approaches to structuring a solicitation statement of work for such an effort. As it is the intent of the Navy to purchase electrical cable by the foot, please also address your capability in providing electrical cable in less than full roll quantities.
