RFP Professional Development 2000 Office of Vocational and Adult Education. The U.S. Department of Education intends to award a contract that shall provide the Office of Vocational and Adult Education (OVAE) with technical assistance on a project to improve adult education professional development systems. The goal of this project is to improve State-administered adult education staff training and facilitate communications and professional development activities among adult education staff and trainers throughout the country. In order to accomplish this goal, the contractor shall accomplish the following objectives 1.) Complete development of basic skill certification systems report and disseminate the report to the field. 2.) Complete the development of adult education staff competencies and assist states in their use as part of certification systems. 3.) Develop and conduct professional development conferences. 4.) Provide assistance and training to the field in Workplace Education Program (WEP) implementation. 5.) Provide technical assistance for the improvement of professional development systems and services. The period of performance for this award will be for 36 months.
