The southeast Sunbelt Region of the General Services Administration,
Atlanta, Georgia announces this Pre-solicitation notice to advertise an
upcoming procurement requirement for Architectural Engineering Services
for the Repair and Alteration of the Historic U.S. Courthouse in
Tallahassee, FL. This is a Restricted Procurement, set-aside for
certified Small Businesses under Section 8(a) of the Small Business
Act. The Sic Code is 8712. The Solicitation Number is
GS-04P-00-EXC-0035. Award is contingent upon the availability of funds.
The design will be in accordance with the current General Services
Administration (GSA) guidelines and initiatives for "Design Excellence
in Public Architecture". All A-E firms must have experience in
Historical Preservation design and engineering. Firms must also be
familiar with current ADA requirements and hazardous material abatement
requirements. This project will be limited to firms in the southeastern
United States. Project Overview: This project proposes the
modernization of the existing U.S. Courthouse, to house bankruptcy
court space and other court-related functions. This modernization will
compliment the District Court functions that will be housed in the
recently completed New Courthouse Annex. The renovated courthouse will
provide for one Bankruptcy courtroom. Agencies that are currently in
leased space will be relocated into federally owned space. The building
consists of 59,976 Gross Squared Feet (gsf), with 50 secure parking
spaces and 1 courtroom. Award of design contract is projected for
October 15, 2000. Construction documents must be completed by May 15,
2001. A separate design package for Asbestos Abatement and General
Interior Demolition must be completed no later than January 15, 2001.
These services will be procured using Brooks Act procedures. All
interested firms must submit a letter of Interest on their company's
letterhead and provide a brochure about their firm to the address
