R -- TRANSCRIPTION SERVICES SOL RFP# 629-05-01 DUE 082400 POC Ronelda Brister, Contracting Officer, (504) 589-5945 Furnish services for Dictation and Transcribing of Medical Information for the Department of Veterans Affairs, New Orleans, LA, including furnishing necessary equipment needed to access and transcribe information on the Medical Center's Dictaphone 7000 Digital Dictation System. Contractor to provide a telecommunications 800 line for dictation with adequate storage capacity to meet the need of the Medical Center. Contractor must currently employ medical transcriptionists and supervisory personnel in sufficient numbers to meet the requirements of this solicitation throughout the contract period. Contractor must assure that at least one member of the Contractors' top management staff must have three (3) or more years of experience managing a medical transcription service. The technical supervisor must have at least two (2) years of experience supervising medical transcriptionists in a transcription service. Contractor personnel must have one or more of the following: (a) Certified medical transcriptionistwith a current working knowledge of meidcal terminology; (b) Graduated from a medical transcription program; or (c) have completed two (2) or more years of employment in the medical transcription department of an acute care hospital where a wide range of medical terms are transcribed. Contractor must have computer technical support on staff to support the programming of medical reports and uploading of medical documents to the Medical Center's main frame computer system. Services shall be for the period of October 1, 2000 through September 30, 2001, with two (2) one year renewal options. Issue date for solicitation is o/b July 24, 2000.
