IMPROVED MOUNTED WATER RATION HEATER SOLE SOURCE: The U.S. Army Materiel Command Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting Division has a requirement, and intends to award two sole source purchase orders, for research, development, analysis and prototype production of improved Mounted Water Ration Heaters incorporating NSF approved molding materials in place of stainless steel and other technological enhancements. USAMCAC, NCD intends to award these sole source purchase orders to Hubbell Electric Heater Company of Stratford, CT, and Isotherm Galley Products, of Montreal, PQ, Canada. Of particular interest are these two companies' unique knowledge, experience, and expertise in the production of this product. The period of performance is six (6) months, the effort is estimated to total approximately twenty-five (25) to fifty (50) percent of one man-year, and the support shall include: re-engineering/designing the inner pot assembly, the tap assembly and the outer case as well as the electronic control circuit.
