synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with
the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; offers are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. This notice is being issued as a
Request for Quotations (RFQ) for replacement of the existing aging 50
horsepower (hp) fire pumps in Buildings 1 and 45. The existing pumps
are currently rated at 191 feet of head pressure and 500 gpm of water

the water will reach the upper most portion of the building and aid in
extinguishing the fire. These older pumps will be replaced with new 40
hp pumps rated at 200 feet of head pressure at 500 gpm of water flow.
The piping and valves to both pumps are to be replaced with new piping
and valves to extend from the inlet OS&Y valve, to the pump to the
outlet OS&Y valve, and all in between. New gages and vents are
included. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect
through FAC 97-18. The SIC code and the small business size standard
for this procurement are 7389 and $5 M average annual receipts over
three years, respectively. The offeror shall state in their offer their
size status for this procurement. All qualified responsible business
