Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD), Detachment Norfolk is conducting a survey of potential suppliers of additives that reduce fuel consumption. This is not a solicitation but a request for information. The information requested is for additives specifically capable of reducing the Marine Grade Diesel fuel consumption of engines manufactured by various companies. Information on additives capable of reducing the fuel consumption of gasoline powered outboard engines is also of interest. The following data is requested: additive description, maturity, marine engine compatibility, cost, maintenance impact, and availability. Copies of independent test data should also be included. A response to this announcement is not a prerequisite for participation in any future craft program should such a program develop. Also, data provided will not be used to qualify prospective offerors for any future solicitations. NSWCCD will not pay or provide reimbursement for any costs incurred in the preparation of delivery of the requested information.
