It is required that the twenty-four (24) Unit A-4 wicket gates (guide vane assemblies) be refurbished in accordance with the contract provision and clauses, the following specifications, and the referenced drawing. Wicket gates are cast steel per Federal Specification QQ-S-681b. The wicket gate assembly has an average diameter of 8 inches along the shaft, is 29-1/4 inches in cord length at the guide vane, and has a total length of 72-1/2 inches. Each wicket gate weighs approximately 1,425 pounds for a total weight of 34,200 pounds for the 24. The wicket gate assemblies will be packaged by Hoover Dam and available for pick-up/shipment from the Hoover Dam Central Warehouse on or about November 15, 2000. The Contractor shall be responsible for transporting the wicket gates from Hoover Dam Central Warehouse to its facility. The Contractor shall return the completed wicket gates f.o.b. to the Hoover Dam Warehouse. The standard industrial classification code is 3568 (500 employees). This acquisition is 100% set aside for small business and will be procured as a commercial service. The estimated issuance date of the solicitation is July 26, 2000.
