commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6
of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being reguested and
a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number
Q8400-00-0026 is issued as a request for quotation. This
synopsis/solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those
in effect through FAC 97-17. The Stadard Industry Code (SIC) is 5032
and the small business size standard is 50. Lassen Volcanic National
Park has a requirement for 3,000 tons of 3/4" minus aggregate road base
material delivered to Juniper Lake Road, southeast entrance to Lassen
Volcanic National Park, Plumas County, California, approximately 5
miles on a paved road and 10 miles on a dirt road from the town of
Chester, California. Delivery to be made no earlier than August 15,
2000 and no completed later than September 8, 2000. Quotation shall
include delivery. FAR Clause 52.212-1, Instructions to
Offerors-Commercial Items (Jan 1999) applies to this acquisition. FAR
Clause 52.212-2, Evaluation-Commercial Items (Jan 1999) applies to this
acquisition. The Government will award a purchase order to the
reponsible offeror whose offer is the most advantageous to the
Government based on the lower price offered to meet the Government
requirement. The offeror is required to submit a completed copy of the
provision at FAR 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and
Certifications-Commercial Items (Feb 2000) with its offer. FAR Clause
52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions-Commercial Items (May 1999)
applies to this acquisition. Statutes or Executive Orders-Commercial
Items (Feb 2000) applies to this procurement. Quotations shall be
received by Lassen Volcanic National Park Contracting Office, Attn:
Carole Childs, PO Box 100, Mineral, California 96063 no later than 4:30
pm (PST)on August 4, 2000. All inquiries regarding this announcement
may be addressed to the attention of Ms. Carole Childs, 530-595-4444
ext. 5141. Aggregate for Class 2 aggregate base shall be dry pit
crushed shale, free from vegetative matter and other deleterious
substances and shall be of such nature that it can be compactd readily
under watering and rolling to form a firm, stable base. The coarse
aggregate (material retained on the No 4 sieve) shall consist of
material of which at least 25 percent by weight shall be crushed
particles as determined by California Test 205. Aggregate shall conform
to the grading and quality requirements shown in the following table:
AGGREGATE GRADING REQUIREMENT, percentage passing: Sieve Size 4, 3/4"
maximum; Individual test results 30-60; Moving average 35-55. QUALITY
REQUIREMENTS: Tests Individual Test Results Moving Average Resistance
(R-value) 78 Min -- Sand Equivalent 22 Min 25 Min Durability Index 35
Min -- Evaluation of test results, with moving averages specified,
shall conform to the provision in Section 6-3.02, "Statistical
Testing." The aggregate shall not be treated with lime, cement or other
