This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ linked above or it may be accessed at http://procurement.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/EPS/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin= . NASA/JSC White Sands Test Facility intends to acquire two Dry (Oiless) Screw Type Vacuum Pumps, Busch Part Number DL-80 or equal, with the following capabilities: (1) Pumps shall be able to reach a dead head pump pressure of less than or equal to 0.005 torr, (2) Pumps shall have a pumping capacity of at least 45 Cubic Feet Per Minute (CFM), (3) Screws shall be in a horizontal configuration, (4) The lubrication system shall have splash oiling only -- no internal oil pump, and (5) The operating speed shall be less than 4000 RPM. Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail preferred) no later than July 20, 2000. Prospective quoters shall notify this office of their intent to submit a quotation.
