unrestricted. The Government intends to procure through Simplified
Acquisition Method (commercial items). SIC Code 2819; small business
size standard 1,000 employees. Liquid chlorine shall be delivered in
one ton steel cylinders each containing 2,000 pounds of chlorine.
Chlorine shall be the quality for potable water purification purposes
as detailed in the AWWA B301-92 specifications. The liquid chlorine
shall be not less than 99.5% pure by volume as determined by analyzing
the chlorine as set forth in the current AWWA B301-92 specifications.
It shall not contain any hexachloroethane or other wax producing
impurity, which will cause fogging of the chlorinator flow meters or
gumming of valves and the moisture content shall not exceed 150 ppm or
0.015% by weight. Total estimated quantity delivered over the course
of the contract is 2,050 tons. Contract is for a one year period
beginning 1 October 2000 through 30 September 2001. The total estimated
amount is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. It is imperative that
all small disadvantaged businesses contact their cognizant Small
Business Administration Office to obtain Small Disadvantaged Business
Certification. Without SBA SDB certification, a prime contractor nor a
federal agency, can receive SDB credit when utilizing non-certified
SDB contractors/subcontractors. All responsible sources may submit a
