The National Park Service, Golden Gate National Recreation Area has identified a requirement for a contractor to perform tree removal services. It is the major objective of this contract to preserve the historic coastal batteries (Godfrey, Marcus-Miller, Boutelle, and Cranston, Presidio of San Franicsco -- western coastal section (Area A)) and enhance the cultural landscape. Damage to the fortifications and the surrounding landscape SHALL be avoided. The contractor shall remove approximately 25 separate trees with 50% of them having a diameter of 18" or greater. All tress to be removed are non-native cypresses, many of which are multi-sparred. The largest tree has a diameter of ~ 60". All designated trees will be removed with all limbs, brush, wood, and debris hauled away and disposed of properly. Contractor is responsible for any and all permits and licenses as may be required by the National Park Service and the City of San Francisco, California. A California State License for tree work (C61/D49) is required.
