The Operational Contracting Division, Services Contracting Branch, at Kirtland Air Force Base, NM intends to award a contract to provide personal services for a Licensed Registered Nurse. The Contractor shall oversee Utilization Management (UM) and Utilization Review (UR) activities at the 377th Medical Group, Kirtland AFB, NM. UM activities include necessity of care determinations with emphasis on disease and demand management, and case management. UR activities focus on the review of the patients' records by applying specific criteria or using clinical judgement to assess medical necessity and appropriateness of care provided to patients and efficiency of the user of healthcare services, procedures, and facilities. The Contractor shall have at least five years of nursing experience and at least one-year of experience in utilization management. The Contractor shall be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, acceptable to the Air Force Surgeon General. The Contractor shall possess Interqual and Milliman and Roberts utilization review training for inpatient/outpatient criteria. The Contractor shall possess a bachelors degree in nursing as a minimum requirement. The Contractor shall possess a valid unrestricted state nursing license for the state of New Mexico. The basic period of performance is 1 Aug 00 -- 31 Jul 00. Four one-year options periods may be awarded. Interested offerors must indicate their size qualifications under the applicable SIC code, 8049 and the size standard, $5.0M. The anticipated award date is 01 Aug 00.
