The Navy has a requirement for preventive, remedial, and per-call maintenance of Government owned multi-vendor computer systems and associated peripheral and networking devices located at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division and the Aegis Training and Readiness Center both located in Dahlgren, Virginia. The equipment consists mainly of Digital Equipment Corporation (Compaq) CPUs (VAX, Alpha, and Intel) and peripherals and networking components from Digital Equipment Corporation and other manufacturers. The equipment list includes the following types of CPUs: DEC 8200, DEC 7710, DEC 4710, DEC 3000, ALPHAServer 8400, ALPHAServer 4100, ALPHAServer 2100, VAXStation 4000, VAXStation 3100, VAX 6400, VAX8650, DECpc and others. Several of the systems are unique configurations integrated by Digital (Compaq) Custom Systems and Services for specific purposes. Principle period of maintenance for on-call maintenance shall be 24 hours per day, Monday through Friday, excluding Government holidays observed at the site. Per-call maintenance will be applicable outside the PPM (weekends and Government holidays). Required response time of 4 hours. Maximum downtime of 12 hours. Response time and downtime credits will be assessed. Maintenance personnel are required to possess at least a Secret level clearance. Contract term of one (1) year plus four (4) option years beginning 1 October 2000. Commercial items solicitation N00178-00-R-2018 utilizing simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with FAR 13.5 will be issued on or about 26 July 2000. Proposals will be due 17 August 2000. Award is anticipated to made about 15 September 2000. Proposals from all responsible sources shall be considered.
