The work package will include: (1) repair of 1B Main Diesel Engine by replacing the existing engine block and crankshaft, and (2) repair of No. 3 Ship_s Service Diesel Generator. All equipment and materials involved in the above work shall be contractor-furnished. Some of the items are considered to be long lead time items. This solicitation will be issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Solicitation will be issued on or about 7 August 2000 with a proposal closing date of 6 September 2000. Period of performance will commence 30 October 2000 and conclude 01 February 2001. This will be an unrestricted best value procurement. For Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts, loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing.
