SYNOPSIS -- -- This project will be procured utilizing a competitive
negotiated process. Proposals from all business concerns will be
accepted for National Capital Parks-Central Project PLH-NACC
502(3),505(2), in Washington, DC. The project consists of the
rehabilitation of the Independence Avenue bridge over Maine Avenue, and
rehabilitation of westbound Maine Avenue from 17th Street to Raoul
Wallenberg Place. The work consists of removal of asphalt pavement,
placement of Superpave asphalt concrete pavement, hydrodemolition,
placement of structural concrete, drainage work, installation of stone
curb, and other miscellaneous work. The project is expected to fall
within the price range of $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. Evaluation of the
proposals will be based on, but will not be limited to: The offeror's
price; construction time; proposed construction method; and experience
and past performance on similar construction projects. Final criteria
will be detailed in the request for proposal and contract booklet.
Request for Proposal No. DTFH71-00-R-00008 is scheduled to be issued on
or about August 4, 2000. Proposals will be due on or about September 7,
