212-264-4306 To perform Maintenance Dredging of East Rockaway Inlet
Navigation Channel with placement of the dredged material as shore
protection along Rockaway Beach. Additionally, to perform Supplemental
Nourishment for Rockaway Beach, which requires the dredging of East
Rockaway Inlet borrow area that is adjacent to East Rockaway Inlet
channel, in addition to the dredging of borrow 2, which is about 1.3
miles south of Rockaway Beach. The dredge material will be placed along
Rockaway Beach. A total of approximately 518,000 cubic yards (cy)
(placed between 27th and 40th Streets) will be dredged from East
Rockaway Inlet of which 204,000 cy represents maintenance dredging and
the remaining 314,000 cy represents the supplemental nourishment
action. Additionally, approximately 775,000 cy (placed between 89th and
110th Streets) will be dredged from borrow area 2. The possibility
exists that additional material may be dredged from borrow area 2 and
placed on Rockaway Beach as an option. This is an UNRESTRICTED
procurement. The SIC Code is 1629. The estimated cost is between
$5,000,000 to $10,000,000. The time for completion for this project is
one hundred and fifteen (115) calendar days after receipt of Notice to
Proceed. Plans and specifications will be available on or about 4
August 2000. The bid opening date is 5 September 2000 at 11:00 A.M. New
York time and will be held in Bid Opening Room 1841. To obtain copy of
plans and specifications, mail check or money order payable to "FAO
USAED New York" in the amount of $50.00 per set (non-refundable) to the
US Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, Contracting Division,
Room 1843, 26 Federal Plaza, New York, NY 10278-0090. No cash accepted.

do so in writing stating the solicitation number of the project,
complete name, street address (no P. O. Box please), telephone number
and facsimile number (including area code). Plans and specifications

Subcontracting Plan is required for all large business firms in which
five percent (5%) small business is preferred. Attention is directed to
DFARS Clause 252.204-7004, Required Central Contractor Registration
(CCR). Prospective contractors must be registered in the Department of
Defense (DOD) CCR database prior to award. Lack of registration in the
DOD CCR database will make an offeror ineligible for award. Information
