The project consists of non-time critical hazardous waste removal. The work shall consist of hazaradous material removal actions and construction work on the Missouri Mine CERCLA project. This work requires the contractor to be HAZWOPER certified. The work shall consist of construction of waste containment cell, including furnishing and installation of Composite Clay Liner material, excavation, removal, hauling and placement of flotation mill tailings, heap leach tailings and waste rock in the containment cell; recontouring tailings ponds to create a natural wetlands environment; removal of mill foundation and miscellaneous equipment, grading, shaping and recontouring areas adjacent to mill foundation; excavation, removal and placement of waste rock into mine shafts and containment cell, recontouring, shaping and grading surfaces, construction of water managenment systems, runout ditches and armoring fill embankments, furnishing haul and placement of riprap; revegetating site. This is a CERCLA project that requires the contractor and employees to be HAZWOPER certified. Estimated start work date is October 1, 2000. Required completion is within 365 days of issuance of the Notice to Proceed; however, the offerors may propose a lesser period and the Forest Service will evaluate. A preproposal meeting is scheduled for August 10, 2000 at 11:00 A.M. Meet at the Idaho City Ranger District Office, Idaho City, Idaho.
