Z -- DEMOLITION AND SITE RESTORATION OF VARIOUS TRACTS WITHIN SLEEPING BEAR DUNES NL, EMPIRE, MICHIGAN SOL IB630000031 DUE 091800 POC Patsy Ferguson, Contracting Officer, 219-926-7561, ext. 436 Contractor to provide all equipment, materials, tools and labor necessary to remove and dispose of buildings, structures, spetic systems, water wells, loose debris and other items as described. All structures shall be removed from within Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore boundaries. Structures include all buildings, foundations, walls, basements, floors, steps, all slabs (including asphalt or concrete slabs used as a pullover on or near any highway that falls within Lakeshore boundaries), curbs, sidewalks, driveways (concrete, asphalt, or gravel), fences, septic tanks, wells, trash and debris, concrete, steel or wood pilings, wire steel reinforcing rods and any other materials that is not of the natural setting. EXCEPTION: The Contractor may break up and bury concrete foundations and floor slabs in existing basement excavations to a depth of no less than 120 centimeters (4 feet) below surface grade. All underground utilities shall be removed. All grading and shaping operations shall be completed and the area left at or near the surrounding natural contours. All roads, drives and lanes used for access will be scarified to encourage natural revegetation and discourage vehicular use. Asphalt materials shall not be buried on site. Contractor may use any method of demolition, provided the method does not cause damage to the landscape and natural resources, and conforms to local/state/federal laws and regulations. It will be the responsibility of the Contractor to obtain any and all necessary permits and/or clearances. Magnitude of project $100,000.00 to $150,000.00.
