Z -- 3RD BATTALION ROOF REPAIRS, MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT, PARRIS ISLAND, SC SOL N62467-00-B-9174 POC JoDEEN CUFFE, CONTRACT SPECIALIST, 843-228-3546 PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE. PURSUANT TO P.L. 100-656, SMALL BUSINESS COMPETITIVENESS DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM, THIS SOLICITATION IS CLASSIFIED AS UNRESTRICTED. SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED VIA ELECTRONIC SOLICITATION WEB-SITE, HTTP://ESOL.NAVFAC.NAVY.MIL. The contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment, supervision, and transportation to perform re-roofing and repair work to several barracks roofs and incidental related work. The 180 man barracks at buildings 416, 417, 418, 419, 420, 421, 422, 423, and 424, are to have all existing roof systems demolished, and new insulated built-up roofing systems installed. The sun deck areas are to be stripped and the concrete wearing slabs demolished. New insulation, a new concrete wearing slab installed, and an epoxy waterproof membrane installed. See drawings for complete scope of work. All roofs identified as asbestos containing are to have abatement procedures applied in accordance with Specifications Section 13281. The work shall be located at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina. The SIC Code is 1761, ROOFING AND SHEETMETAL WORK. The size standard is $11,500,000.00. The estimated range for this project is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The estimated time for completion is 270 calendar days. The estimated solicitation release date is 09 August 2000. The estimated due date for bids is 08 September 2000. A pre-bid site visit is intended. The site visit schedule will be provided in the solicitation. The Government intends on issuing the solicitation through the use of the Internet only. All prospective offerors and plan rooms must register on the web-site. The entire solicitation, with drawings will be available for viewing and downloading at http://esol.navfac.navy.mil. The download time may be excessive. The official planholders list will be maintained and can be printed from the web-site. Amendments will be posted on the web-site for downloading. This will be the only method of distributing amendments; therefore, IT IS THE OFFEROR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK THE WEB-SITE PERIODICALLY FOR ANY AMENDMENTS TO THIS SOLICITATION.
