Furnish all necessary labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform short-term wharf repairs at the USCG Integrated Support Command, New Orleans, LA. The work includes the following: (a) Replace deteriorated timber deck parking components, (b) Provide traffic barricades at the South ramp platform, (c) Replace deteriorated timber fender piles, (d) Replace North ramp platform, (e) Install a grout/rip- rap curtain at the North end, and (f) Replace deteriorated portions of wharf timber piles. The estimated price range is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. Bid guarantee, payment and performance bonds are required. There is a charge of $20.00 for the bid package. Checks should be made payable to the U. S. Coast Guard and forwarded to the Miami address. This solicitation is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to both small and large business concerns. All responsible sources may submit a bid, which will be considered by this agency. Those who have previously requested this project under the Presolicitation Notice (CBD Submission No. 455697, dated 05/17/00) do not need to request again. For: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises : The Department of Transportation ( DOT) Office of Small Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSBDU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guarantee on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.00.
