Geological Survey's National Wildlife Health Center (NWHC) in Madison,
Wisconsin has a requirement to replace the existing built-up roof
system with new loose laid ballasted EPDM roof membrane. This work
includes, but is not limited to: (1) Removal and disposal of the
existing roof, insulation, and all appurtenances down to the existing
metal deck; (2) Modification to exhaust fan systems on the roof for
ease of maintenance; (3) Installation of exterior receptacles on the
roof; (4) Removal of existing fan wash-down piping and heat exchange
piping on the roof; (5) Interior renovation for the correction of water
damage; and (6) Installation of new 50 ton, 10,000 CFM air handler.
Specific work requirements are set forth in the Statement of Work.
Requests for the Request for Proposal (RFP) must be sent to the
Contracting Officer in writing via regular mail, facsimile at
703/648-7359, or e-mail to hrwilliams@usgs.gov. Requests must clearly
state the company name and mailing address, a point of contact and
phone/fax number. We anticipate issuance of the RFP on August 2, 2000.
There is a site visit scheduled for August 22, 2000 at 9:00am Central
Time. This will be the only site visit scheduled. The magnitude of the
construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The SIC code is 1761.
The size standard is $7 million. The proposed procurement listed here
is being issued as an UNRESTRICTED acquisition pursuant to the Small
Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The performance period
will be 110 calendar days from Notice to Proceed. Proposals are due by
close of business September 14, 2000. Award will be made to the offeror
who the Government determines can best accomplish the necessary work to
satisfy the requirements set forth in the RFP in a manner most
advantageous to the Government. The Government reserves the right to
