The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a firm fixed price contract for a base year (FY-2002) and two option years (FY-2003/2004) for the procurement of F405-RR-401 Adour engines for the T-45A aircraft from Rolls Royce plc of Bristol, England. The FY-2002 Adour engine procurement consists of eight (8) installation engines, one (1) spare engine, spare modules, shipping devices, engineering support, sustaining engineering services and various spare and repair parts. As the sole developer and manufacturer of the F405-RR-401 Adour engine, Rolls Royce plc is the only known source with the experience and technical data required to perform this effort.
