66 -- CONFOCAL LASER SCANNING SYSTEM SOL 263-00-P(GG)-0043 POC Catherine Hiltner, Contracting Officer, (301) 402-3063 The National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Dental and Carniofacial Research intends to negotiate with Carl Zeiss, Inc., 61 Iverness Drive, Englewood, CO 80112, to furnish and install a confocal laser scanning system with the following accessories: software 3D for LSMV2.5, Binocular tube LSM5 w/TV port, transmitted light channel, and LSM5 table 30x30 threaded/GR30. In addition, the resultant contract will include a maximum of 4 successive 12-month options to provide on-site, full service maintenance of the system identified above. The provided equipment and services are proprietary and commercial as defined in FAR Part 2. Carl Zeiss, Inc. is the only known source capable of providing the required equipment/services. This action is under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1 and HHSAR 306.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 15 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
