Zeleny, 301-713-6755 x227 The National Archives and Records Administration intends to award a sole source contract to Sony Electronics Inc. for the following commercial items: Item Number Description of Item Quantity DVW-A500 Component Digital VTR 8 each BKDW-505 Analog Composite Decoder Board 8 each DVW-A510 Component Digital Videocassette Player 1 each PVW-2800 Betacam SP 2000PRO Editing Board 1 each PVM20M2U 20" (19V) Trinitron Digital Monitor 2 each This sole source award will be made to retreive and service audiovisual records of the Clinton administration which were created in Sony Digital Betacam format. This decision of the White House to utilize the Sony Digital Betacam format has set the requirement precedent for other Presidential libraries as they must share compatibility with the modern Presidential record media. Only one source is responsible and no other supplies will satisfy the Agency requirement. Alternatives to all Sony products cited above must be accompianed by clear and convincing written evidence that the offer is more advantageous to the Government than a sole source award to Sony Electronics, Inc. Pricing information shall also be provided with the submission. If no affirmative response(s) is/are recieved within five (5) working days after publication of this notice, a sole source contract with Sony Electronics Inc. will be awarded. Interested firms must submit their complete response, not to exceed ten (10) single sided pages, to the attention of the contracting officer no later than 4:00 PM EST five (5) working days after the publication of this notice.
