This is a combined synopsis-/-solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and THERE WILL BE NO WRITTEN REQUEST FOR QUOTATION ISSUED. The solicitation number for this Request for Quotation is N00244-00-T-1164. This solicitation and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-18. This solicitation is issued on a unrestricted basis. FISC San Diego has a requirement for the following: Paging Service for the Naval Hospital, Twenty-nine Palms, CA., for a base year plus four (4) option years. CONTRACT SPECIFICATIONS The Contractor must provide the following: (1.)Lease of paging system consisting of 200 alpha numeric pagers and 5 nationwide alpha numeric pagers. (2) 800 number provided for each pager. (3) 100% guaranteed coverage in Naval Hospital including lower level North and South. (4) Pager protection plan (dollar deductible for lost or destroyed?) (5) Weekly account representative service, site visits on an as needed basis. (6) Replacement batteries. (7) Each pager will be capable of 100 pages, 100 characters each per month (8) The nationwide coverage for the 5 pagers will be capable of 50 numeric pages per month each. (9)Require ability for any computer system within the Naval Hospital to access the paging terminal, compatible to NT 4.0. 10)Require receipt of page to be no greater than 45 seconds after transmission. (11.) Down time for transmitter mechanical problems not to exceed two hours.(12) Prior notification of scheduled maintenance.(13) Ten deactivated pagers on hand, which can be programmed by phone calls as required.(14.) Upgrades provided at no additional charge as technology changes or improves. Required delivery is to Twenty-nine Palms Naval Hospital, Twenty-nine Palms, CA. Acceptance shall be at destination.
