The Department of the Interior (DOI) is seeking information on commercially available financial management systems to support DOI-wide mission needs of integrated systems including, but not limited to: personal property and fleet management; real property; financial assistance and grants; travel management; acquisition management; budget formulation; reporting, and core financial management. The National Business Center (NBC) on behalf of the DOI will issue a RFI on or about July 31, 2000. The RFI will be available on the NBC website http://IDEASEC.NBC.GOV select DOI-RFI and only electronic responses to the RFI will be reviewed. The RFI will be issued solely for information and planning purposes -- it will not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). The information obtained in response to the RFI will be used exclusively to assist in planning for the possible acquisition and implementation of financial management systems.The objective of this RFI is to obtain a better understanding of the availability of commercial software to support and streamline DOI's financial management functions. The NBC is sponsoring a half day briefing and overview of the technical requirements for responding to this request on July 31, 2000, beginning at 10:30 am to be held in the auditorium of the U. S. Geological Survey, 12201 Sunrise Valley Drive, Reston, VA. Electronic registration for the briefing can be accomplished through the NBC web site at http://IDEASEC.NBC.GOV. It is anticipated that hard copies of the RFI will be made available at the briefing. Advance registration for the briefing is suggested.
