SOL 501810R006 DUE 090100 POC Dale Aubin, 413-253-8230 or Marsha Browning, 413-253-8236 The U.S. Fish and wildlife Service invites offers on a proposed contract for the Design and Fabrication of the Renovation of Interior and Exterior Exhibits for the Visitor's Center at the National Wildlife Visitor Center at Patuxent Research Refuge. The Visitor Center contains interior and exterior exhibits in a 38,000 square foot building. The project consists of design, fabrication and installation of renovations to selected interior exhibits. A firm-fixed price contract is anticipated. Evaluation criteria in descending order of importance are: (1) Qualifications and experience of key personnel in the areas of creative and technical expertise required, including subcontractors to be used on this project. Demonstration of effectiveness of personnel in developing design and fabrication alternatives within budget and completion of contracts of this type and size of schedule. (Carries a total possible weight of 25 points). (2) Cost -- (Carries a total possible weight of 30 points). (3) Examples of innovative approaches to natural resource interpretation and design, through models, illustrations, graphics, and mixed-media audio-visual productions proposed for this project. (Carries a total possible weight of 15 points). (4) Ability to demonstrate proficiency in state-of-the-art exhibit development. (Carries a total possible weight of 15 points). (5) Ability and resources to design, fabricate, install, control quality, control cost, and manage subcontractors and customer requirements for this exhibit project. (Carries a total possible weight of 10 points). (6) Letters of recommendation and awards which address communication between the firm and the client and which address the interpretive effectiveness of the exhibits.
