Administration (SAMHSA) through the Program Support Center, General
Acquisitions Branch intends to award a twelve month sole source
Simplified Acquisition to the Institute for Mental Health Initiatives
to develop Intervention and Program Materials to Foster Resilience and
Prevent Violence. A Focus group will be conducted with media
professionals to gain advice on the development of an effective
multi-media campaign regarding resilience and violence prevention that
is sensitive to diversity. A review of existing booklets, brochures,
and other materials on fostering resilience will be done in order to
gather information to develop the content for short booklets on
Fostering Resilience for Hispanic, African Americans, Asian Americans,
Pacific Islanders, and Native American parents, teachers, and
children. The Institute for Mental Health Initiatives will work closely
with other researchers to ensure the text is culturally appropriate. No
solicitation is available. Theexpected date of award is August 7, 2000.
