IFB o/a 08/07/00. Estimated cost range $1,000,000 -- $5,000,000. Time for completion 180 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. No document charge or deposit required. Project involves renovating handicapped restrooms, and replacement of finishes, doors, and suspended ceilings with associated mechanical and electrical work in elevator lobbies and public corridors. Most of the work must be performed after hours to minimize tenant disruption. Work will include penetrations through vinyl asbestos tile, and revision to piping with asbestos laden fittings. Base bid includes elevator lobby Floors 3 -- 10, Option 1 includes public corridors on Floors 3 -- 9 and restrooms on Floors 4, 6, 8, and 10. Option 2 includes public corridors on Floor 10, and Option 3 includes restrooms on Floors 3, 5, 7 and 9. Asbestos abatement. Any contractor or subcontractor performing asbestos or other hazardous material work shall satisfy special responsibility and provide bodily injury liability insurance coverage of at least $1,000,000 per occurrance. Such coverage must encompass liabilities arising from work with hazardous material involved. The government will not endemnify against such risk.
