and perform all operations necessary to renovate growth chamber rooms.
The work may include, but is not limited to: repair and refinish
existing surfaces where floors, walls and ceilings have been removed or
adjacent to new construction. Verify all dimensions relative to
existing and new construction. Where existing surfaces are damaged by
new construction work, repair and refinish to match original surface in
appearance and quality. See structural, mechanical and electrical for
their respective demolition and construction. Cutouts for mechanical
and electrical work shall be accomplished in such a manner that
standard escution plates, covers, etc. will adequately cover rough
openings. Overside openings shall be repaired to match adjacent
surfaces by the contractor responsible for cutouts. If materials
suspicious of containing asbestos are uncovered, the contractor shall
notify the owner immediately so that the owner can have the materials
tested and removed by a contractor specialized in asbestos removal.
Pack grout in openings around pipes and ducts which penetrate floors,
walls, and ceilings. Provide fire treated wood blocking in walls and
partitions behind all wall mounted accessories, cabinets, shelving,
door frames and items of equipment shown on the drawings or indicated
in the specifications. Coordinate all civil, architectural, structural,
mechanical, and electrical construction work. If lead based paid is
encountered in demolition it will need to be addressed similarly as
asbestos. Alternate No. 1 to this project will be casework/ cabinets --
Room 100 Dry Chem Lab. This will include to provide all general,
mechanical and electrical work associated with providing the
casework.Site visit for this project will be Tuesday, August 8, 2000 at
10:00 a.m. at the USDA-REE-ARS, North Central Soil Conservation
Research Lab, 803 Iowa Avenue, Morris, MN 56267. Magnitude of the
requirement is between $25,000 and $100,000. SIC is 1542. The size
