COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 25,2000 PSA#2649 U.S. Army Space & Missile Defense Command, Attn: SMDC-CM, 106 Wynn
Drive, Huntsville, AL 35805-1990 A -- ADVANCED DISCRIMINATING LADAR TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM POC Judith A.
Staggs, Contracting Officer, SMDC-CM-CN, (256)955-4059 The U.S. Army
Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) intends to enter into a
contract for research and development services with Raytheon Missile
Systems. This effort is the continuation of a research and development
initiated by Raytheon Missile Systems. Significant progress has been
attained toward bringing this discriminating interceptor ladar to
fruition, including the investment of considerable monies. Hence the
effort will be a continuation of the effort currently being conducted
under Contract DASG60-95-C-0026 for the "Advanced Discriminating Ladar
Technology Program." The effort will include component reengineering
as necessary to assure the Brassboard design meets the flight
performance, weight, and volume requirements for the Advanced Vehicle
Concept. Laboratory and field tests on the Compact Breadboard are
planned together with the following new integrated components: waveform
generator (WFG) with integrated fiber switch, acquisition and track
processor (A&TP), VME chassis mounted and range resolve Doppler imaging
(RRDI) processor boards. The contractor will design and fabricate a
flight Brassboard leveraging from the Compact Breadboard design and
integrate a passive sensor for test. The period of performance for this
effort will be sixty (60) months. This effort requires a SECRET
facility clearance. No foreign subcontracting participation has been
experienced nor is it expected. Because of the requirement to exploit
effort in which the government has invested considerable time and money
and the need to position the technology for timely technological
infusion into the National Missile Defense (NMD), the action is
directed to Raytheon Missile Systems under the Federal Acquisition
Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1. This notice is not a request for proposals,
however responses received from this notice will be considered in
accordance with FAR 6.302-1(d)(2). All responses should be directed to
SMDC-CM-CN/Judith Staggs and must be received within fifteen (15) days
after the date of publication of this synopsis. No telephone inquiries
will be accepted. See Note 22. Posted 07/21/00 (W-SN477480). (0203) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0009 20000725\A-0009.SOL)
