J -- FULL SERVICE MAINTENANCE OF JEOL ELECTRON MICROSCOPES AND ACCESSORIES SOL 263-00-P(GG)-0045 POC Catherine Hiltner, Contracting Officer, (301) 402-3063 The National Institutes of Health intends to negotiate with JEOL U.S.A., Inc., 11 Dearborn Road, Peabody, MA 01961 to provide on-site, full service maintenance of Government-owned JEOL electron microscopes and accessories for a period of one year with four successive 12-month option periods. Services to be provided include preventive maintenance inspections consisting of, but not limited to, examination of all functioning parts, thorough cleaning, proper lubrication, replacement or repair of worn or unserviceable parts, adjustment and calibration; and, emergency repairs. Services shall be provided Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays, between 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The provided services are proprietary and commercial as defined in FAR Part 2. JEOL U.S.A., Inc. is the only known source capable of providing the required services. This action is under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as set forth in FAR 6.302-1 and HHSAR 306.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals. All proposals received within 15 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
