R -- DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MEDICARE QUALITY ASSURANCE DEMONSTRATION POC Paula Kolick, Contract Specialist, (410)786-5165 In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, the Health Care Financing Administration's (HCFA) Office of Clinical Standards and Quality (OCSQ) intends to negotiate a modification with the Center for Health Policy Research (CHPR), Contract No. 500-94-0054, 1355 S. Colorado Boulevard, Denver, CO 80222, to expand the scope of work under the contract entitled Design and Implementation of the Medicare Quality Assurance Demonstration. The CHPR will (1) supplement the existing contract to expand tasks in order to develop the template, infrastructure, and systems needed for generating reports from outcome-based quality indicators for home health agencies using the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) for use in reporting about home health quality of care (2) provide for the continuation and enhancement of technical assistance to HCFA on the use of OASIS and Outcome Based Quality Improvement in the home health prospective payment system and the survey process in order to provide continued support to several HCFA components (3) provide for the continued evaluation of OASIS quality indicators and the execution of the assessment instrument to develop recommendations for its improvement and use for home quality of care.
