intent of this Request for Proposal is to establish a contract to
furnish all equipment, labor, supervision, transportation, and
materials to provide professional medical transcription services in
accordance with the terms and conditions of the solicitation for the VA
Medical Center, Salisbury, NC. The scope of the work includes but is
not limited to transcription of compensation and pensions exams,
discharge summaries, operation reports, radiology reports, history &
physical examinations, procedure reports, miscellaneous (memos, letters
and stat reports mentioned herein for two (2) hour turn around time.)
In addition, the transcription of the dictation shall be directly
integrated into the VA Medical Center COMPUTER System, Salisbury, NC.
All prospective offerors shall have the capability to program their
systems to download to the VAMC Salisbury, NC system. All costs for
programming and access shall be the responsibility of the contractor.
Solicitation documents may be obtained only in writing from the
contracting officer listed in this advertisement. The documents will be
available on or about August 7, 2000. This is a total 100% small
business set aside procurement. The standard industrial classification
code for this procurement is 7389. All requests for solicitation
documents may be facsimiled to (704) 638-3495. This competitive
procurement requires both technical and cost proposals to be evaluated
by our qualified team of experts in the field of procurement,
information system and medical transcription. All questions relevant to
this procurement may be directed to the contracting officer. All
proposals shall be received by close of business September 7, 2000 in
order to be considered responsive to the solicitation. Prospective
contractors shall have computer access capability and all materials,
supplies, PC, peripherals, disks, etc. at their own expense. Posted
