Savage (201) 714-5444/George Schramm (201) 714-5458 The USPS-New York Facilities Service Office is seeking to prequalify General Contractors for an indefinite quantity of fixed-price contracts for repair and alteration, and new construction projects within the Upper New York area. There are two project cost ranges (1) $100,000 to $750,000, (2) $750,000 to $5,000,000. The contractual requirements, construction cost and performance time for each project will vary. This prequalification will be in effect for a maximum of 3 years. You must meet three minimum requirements to apply: (1) Your firm must be located in any of the following Counties, and you must be able to work on projects anywhere within the counties of Columbia, Dutchess, Greene, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, Westchester. (2) Your company must have been in business, under the firm's present name, for a minimum of five consecutive years. (3) To request Cost Range #1 you must provide proof of bonding with a minimum aggregate dollar amount of $1,500,000; for Cost Range #2 you must provide proof of bonding with a minimum aggregate dollar amount of $10,000,000. Interested firms that meet the minimum requirements must submit a Qualification Statement. Some of the factors used to evaluate Statements include financial capability, experience, and contractor capabilities. Specify Upper New York Cost Range #1 and/or Cost Range #2. Packages will be mailed after August 1, 2000.Completed Statements are due by August 31, 2000. Firms will be notified within 60 days of the due date. Only the most highly qualified firms will be prequalified. Being prequalified does not guarantee you will be awarded a contract.
