Postal Service is soliciting proposals to install a security access system including badge readers, badges, monitoring system and cameras at the Springfield Mail Processing Annex on 1st Avenue in Springfield, MA. The estimated cost of the work is between $250,000.00 and $350,000.00, with completion within one hundred twenty (120) calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed. Sealed offers will be received in this office prior to, but no later than, 4:00 p.m. on August 18, 2000. Offers will not be publicly opened. The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount of any offer, or relative standing of the offerors WILL NOT BE DISCLOSED TO ANYONE until award of contract is made. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be available o/a July 20, 2000 at a cost of $30.00 per set (non-refundable) from the Facilities Service Office, U. S. Postal Service, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT 06006-0300. Only certified checks or money orders will be accepted, made payable to the Disbursing Officer, U. S. Postal Service (Reference Solicitation No. 082530-00-A-0139). Plans may be inspected at the issuing office and information regarding their availability may be obtained by contacting Catherine Delasco at (860) 285-7191. Proposals will be evaluated on 1) price; 2) company environmental health and safety plan, which must be submitted with the proposal. A project-specific safety plan must be submitted by the successful offeror before award. Guidelines for other project requirements are outlined in the specifications. The successful offeror will be required to submit a 100% performance bond and 50% payment bond before award of contract is made.
