selective demolition, additions, and 17,000 sq. ft. workroom, carrier
& mail platform expansion, renovations, painting, waterproofing and
re-roofing the existing Palm Harbor Post Office, and the construction
of an employee parking lot south of this site, located at 495 Alt. #19.
Work is to be done in phases to allow continual unobstructed function
of the Post Office. PREPROPOSAL CONFERENCE SCHEDULED FOR AUGUST 10 AT
1:0O P.M. AT PALM HARBOR FACILITY. CONTRACTORS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED
TO ATTEND BECAUSE CONSTRUCTION PHASING WILL BE DISCUSSED. Work
includes, but is not limited to steel frame construction, concrete,
masonry, carpentry, modified bitumen roofing, insulation, hollow metal
doors, metal studs, gyp board, ceramic tile, resilient flooring, vinyl
composition tile flooring, painting, store fixtures, landscaping,
electrical, mechanical, utilities and other work associated with postal
facilities. The estimated cost for this project is between $2,000,000
and $2,350,000. Notice to Proceed will not be issued until water
management permits are received, which may take 30-60 days after award.
In accordance with Section H, Paragraph H.20, the minority-owned
business subcontracting goal for this contract is a minimum of 10% and
women-owned business subcontracting goal is 7%. Documents and drawings

Performance (100%) and Payment (40%) bonds will be required from the
successful offeror. There will NOT be a public opening of offers. NO
INFORMATION about the proposals can be released until award is made
(normally takes 3-4 weeks). ONLY OFFERS RETURNED VIA PERSONAL HAND
DELIVERY OR U.S. POSTAL SERVICE (FIRST CLASS, EXPRESS MAIL OR PRIORITY
MAIL) WILL BE CONSIDERED IN COMPLIANCE WITH THIS SOLICITATION. ANY
