Project will consist of the construction of a gabion matress overflow around the Palo Colorado Recreation Area parking on the Caribbean National Forest. It will include channel excavation, backfill of washed out parking slopes, installation of a 15 inch reinforced concrete pipe and inlet, installation of gabion baskets and mattress, stone revetment of channel and fill slopes, erosion control, and paving of disturbed areas. PROJECT LOCATION: From Puerto Rico Highway 3 in the Rio Grande vicinity, turn south into PR Hwy. 191, then south for 12.2 kilometers to the Palo Colorado Recreation site.
