Request for Information (RFI) The U.S. Army Biometrics Management Office (BMO), located at 5901 Leesburg Pike, Suite 918 Falls Church, VA 22041, is seeking information concerning the state of commercial, off-the-shelf (COTS), biometric products. The purpose of this RFI is to invite vendors of biometric products to submit profiles of their products to the BMO for inclusion in a BMO-maintained list of biometrics vendors and products. This list will be provided upon request to Department of Defense (DoD) organizations for information only, and will not be used to guide, constrain, or otherwise influence government procurements of biometric products. All information received will be treated as public knowledge. Vendors should not submit proprietary information in response to this RFI. The focus of this RFI is on the following types of biometrics products: 1) those that enable biometric authentication in addition to or in place of username/password authentication on stand alone computers or in client/servernetwork environments; 2) sensor hardware for biometric acquisition; 3) products that enable the use of biometrics for facility access control; and 4) biometrics for use in internet applications, such as e-commerce. Smartcards are of interest here only to the extent that they play a role in an integrated solution involving biometrics. Respondents are welcome to provide information in the form of product brochures, press releases, technical specification sheets, reprints of trade journal articles, etc. In addition, vendors are requested to fill out a product profile for each product they wish added to the BPO listing. The template for the product profile is provided below. All submissions should be submitted as hardcopy, electronic, or both according to the following instructions.
