COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 27,2000 PSA#2651 U.S. Army Engineers District, Wilmington District, Corps of Engineers,
P.O. Box 1890, Wilmington, NC 28402-1890 B -- WATER AERATION EQUIPMENT PROCUREMENT AND EVALUATION SOL
DACW54-00-I-0001 DUE 081700 POC Daniel Small (910) 251-4730 The U.S.
Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District is seeking a vendor to
install and evaluate the feasibility of using artificial placed water
aeration units to aid in restoration of water quality in a one hundred
and sixty (160) acre estuarine bay, Jacksonville, North Carolina.
Mechanical water aeration units would be used to circulation the water
column to assist in destratifying oxygen levels to help prevent anoxia
conditions above bottom sediments in the bay. Destratification of the
water column is expected to achieve a steady state of disolved oxygen
in the range of 1.5 to 2.0 PPM. Venders should be able to provide
mechanical units as well as expert staff to install, maintain, and
evaluate the effectiveness of the units to achieve the expected
results. Installation and evaluation of the units should be scheduled
to occur during the months of August through September, 2000. Posted
