66 -- INTEGRATED MICROARAY SCANNER SOL RFQ 580-21-00 DUE 082500 POC Cathy Edwards, (713) 794-7423 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a request for quote. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-18. Standard industrial classification code 5047, size standard 100 employees, applies to this procurement. The following brand name or equal system should be delivered FOB Destination, VAMC Houston, TX. Delivery should be made within ten (10) weeks of receipt of order. Item 1. Axon Instruments GenePix 4500 integrated microarray scanner and analysis system with software, 1 each. Item 2. Dell Dimension XPS T700MHz with Pentium III mini-tower with 256 K cache, 1 each. Item 3. Operating and service manual for items 1 and 2, 1 each. In order to be acceptable, an equal system must: detect genes, provide laser-based simultaneous imaging of two biological dyes within five minutes of microscope slide, include a bar code scanner for sample and data identification and organization, software should capture the image and provide data analysis, and the computer system must integrate the instrument function, data collection and analysis. The provision at 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors -- Commercial, applies to this acquisition. Offers will be evaluated on price and the technical capability of the item offered to meet the Government's requirement.
