(DOC), International Trade Administration (ITA), Tourism Industries
(TI), intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Statistics
Canada, Ottawa, Canada to provide 1999 Survey of Canadian Visitors to
the U. S. A. This data is required to effectively provide travel data
to public and private industry users. TI produces the Summary of
International Travelers to the United States. This summery is the
official Federal Government source for international tourist arrival to
the United States. The contractor will provide: 1) monthly volume of
Canadians visiting the U. S. (by mode and length of stay) and quarterly
and annual tip characteristics (expenditures, nights, purpose, province
or origin and state visited) of Canadian visitors who stay in the U. S.
for one or more nights. 2) US tourists entering Canada by
transportation mode (automobiles, trucks, commercial and private
airplane, train, bus, commercial and private boat, pedestrians, and
others). 3) Canadian tourists entering the US by transportation mode
(automobiles, trucks, commercial and private airplane, train, bus,
commercial and private boat, pedestrians, and others). 4) Non-US
residents travelers entering Canada either directly or via the United
States, by air, land, and sea. 5) Canadian tourists entering countries
other tan the United States directly or via rthe United States by air,
sea, and land. 6) International travelers between Canada and other
countries by mode of transportation. 7) Non-Canadian residents entering
Canada by province of entry by mode of transportation. 8) International
travelers by country of residence, not including US residents, entering
Canada. 9) Activities engaged in by Canadians. 10) Purpose of trip by
state. 11) Type of accommodation such as hotel, cabin, camping,
friend/relative, etc. 12) Canadian arrivals by gender and age. 13)
Canadian expenditures in the U. S. by state. 14) Canadian residents
entering Canada by Province and mode of transportation. This is a
notice of intent and cannot be considered a solicitation, therefore no
solicitation package exist. Award will be made using Simplified
