The United States Agency for International Development intends to enter into a bilateral modification with Development Alternatives to extend the current contract for a period of 18 months (Task Orders to be completed within one year of the contrct completion date) under FAR 16.505(c)(3) and AIDAR 706.501. The technical services to be procured during the eighteen-month extension will support USAID/Washington offices and USAID-assisted countries requiring innovative gender expertise and approaches in design, implementation and evaluation. Specifically, these services will enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of USAID's development assistance by building on women's roles and capabilities and minimizing women's constraints. The Contractor will continue to assist operating units to develop strategies for incorporating and addressing gender concerns in all activities and help provide sector specific guidelines for integration of gender issues into development activities.
